Nathan and Lori Givens share a life long love of music and teaching. Both were brought up in musical families, and they appreciate the value of music in developing stronger families, academics, and self-esteem. Mr. and Mrs. Givens are blessed to share the gift of music with others every day, making Music Man Studio more than just a business.
Focusing on technique from the very beginning is the key to success later on. Bad habits can quickly develop, but isolating specific areas is essential for overall growth and improvement. Slow practice is necessary for consistent playing. Practicing slowly allows you to hear the details that you miss at a faster tempo. Teaching a student how to practice is vital for short and long-term progress. The student spends more time individually then with their instructor, so it is important for them to become their own teacher and learn how to problem solve. These skills will help them musically, academically and in other areas of their life.
