Beginning students will learn how to produce a quality sound as well learning and memorizing fingerings and corresponding pitches. The music will be fun and varied, from popular tunes to familiar classical pieces. The more advanced student will have a chance to work on etudes and solo repertoire, as well as music theory.
A member of the woodwind family, the clarinet is equally popular as a solo instrument as well as within the context of an orchestra or larger ensemble. Cylindrical in shape, the clarinet resembles both the saxophone and flute in terms of its recorder-like fingering system. Like the saxophone, the clarinet's sound is partly produced by the vibrations of a reed.
