Nathan Givens: Music Director, Conductor

Nathan Givens has a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from Portland State University where he studied with Carol Sindell, violinist for the Floristan Trio. Mr. Givens was also a violist in the Portland Youth Philharmonic. Mr. Givens is currently involved in chamber music with both violin and viola. He taught Elementary Orchestra for the Lake Oswego School District from 1999 - 2002. Mr. Givens currently teaches in the Strings Program for the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. Mr. Givens is the Orchestra Director for the Wood Middle School and Wilsonville High School Orchestras.

Lori Givens: Music Director, Coordinator

Lori Givens has a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from the Indiana University School of Music where she studied with Allen DeVeritch, former principal violist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and Rainer Moog, former principal violist of the Berlin Philharmonic. Currently involved in chamber music with both the violin and viola, Mrs. Givens has performed professionally with the Richmond Symphony, Evansville Philharmonic, Owensboro Symphony, Columbus Pro Musica, Columbus Symphony, Terre Haute Symphony, and Bloomington Pops Orchestra.

Hamilton Cheifetz

Hamilton Cheifetz has received critical acclaim for his solo compact discs, Songs from the Cello and Jubilatum. A native of Chicago, he studied with Janos Starker at Indiana University. Mr. Cheifitz has performed at the White House and the Sydney Opera House and has toured with Music From Marlboro and the Paul Winter Consort. Solo apperances with orchestra include the symphonies of Toronto, Milwaukee, and Oregon, and he has also recorded for Delos as a Chamber Music Northwest artist.

Carol Sindell

Carol Sindell began her studies with Josef Gingold at age seven, and in 1962 she was accepted as a student of Jascha Heifetz. She made her professional debut with the Cleveland Orchestra at age eleven, and in 1974 she made her New York debut in Carnegie Recital Hall. Ms. Sindell has performed as a soloist and with ensembles in Europe, Japan, Canada, and the United States, and she has beeen a feature artist on the Music From Marlboro series and Chamber Music Northwest Music Festival.
